Service Dog Program
Join Our Service Dog Program Today
The service dog program is a high-quality, high-intensity training program intended to turn appropriate candidates into certified service dogs. This process can take from 6 months to 2 years and can cost thousands of dollars. There is also a high rate of dismissal; meaning, there are no guarantees that your dog will graduate the program once we start. There is a lot of preparation that needs to take place including consulting with your doctors and therapists before you start this process. Please take the time and consider going down this path of service dog training is right for you and your situation before you apply.
Be aware that there is a $50 application fee to submit this form. Applicant dogs must have obtained their AKC CGC title or have completed obedience training through Jay’s Friends Dog Training, or another accredited trainer. Verification may be required.
Build Reliable Skills for Service Work
Our service dog training program provides a structured path for developing the obedience, focus, manners, and dependable behavior needed for daily working environments. Through individualized service dog task training, dogs learn specific behaviors designed to assist with a handler’s disability while continuing to respond reliably to cues. Training can include foundational manners, advanced obedience, controlled distractions, and practical routines that help prepare dogs for consistent performance. For individuals in Clarksville, this focused approach provides a practical framework for progressing from basic skills toward responsible service work in everyday settings.
Prepare Your Dog for Everyday Access
Reliable performance matters when a working dog accompanies a handler through stores, appointments, sidewalks, and other public settings. Our service dog public access training develops calm behavior, handler focus, appropriate responses to distractions, and the ability to follow commands in busy environments. Alongside service dog behavior training, the program reinforces the manners and self-control needed for working around people, animals, sounds, and changing surroundings. This service dog preparation program helps create a foundation for dogs expected to perform their trained tasks consistently while navigating everyday life with their handlers.
